Funeral services for Jack McGeorge, 85 of Marshall will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2017 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Will Sherman officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the funeral home.
Jack McGeorge was born on August 5, 1932 in Marshall, the son of David Bert and Annie Lee Coleman McGeorge. On June 4, 1953, he married Kathryn Ann Morris. Jack was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and was a self-employed dirt contractor. Jack passed away September 19, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathryn Ann McGeorge; son, Lee McGeorge and wife, Kristi; daughter, Linda Sooter and husband, Jodie; son-in-law, Gary Cox; grandchildren, Eric Cox, Peter McGeorge, Lindsey McGeorge and ; Anna Barge, and husband Zane; great-granddaughter, Stella Grace Barge; nephews, Mike Weidman and wife, Robin; and Jimmy McGeorge and wife, Alisa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Susan Cox, brother, James Earl McGeorge and sister, Inez Weidman.
The family would like to give special thanks to Brenda Calico, Frances Buford, Sharon Bell, Pat Munden, Marshall Manor Nursing Home, Marshall Home Care and Hospice and nurse, Sue Perkins for helping to care for Jack.
