A memorial service for David Oney, 61, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home.

David was born on June 1, 1963, in Marshall, Texas to Alton Johnny Oney and Wilma Ann Bunch Oney and passed away on March 30, 2025, at his residence in Marshall.

He worked as manager at AA Lumber Yard for a number of years until it closed in 1999. He then began raising cattle at the Double O Charolais Cattle Ranch. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed all sports except for golf. He also enjoyed reading books.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Johnny Oney and his sister, Christy Oney.

He is survived by his mother, Wilma Oney; children, Kyndall Dake and spouse, Shajuna, Justin Oney and Kace Adkisson, Destiny Sharp and husband, Zachary and Warren Stanford and wife, Naomi; sister, Cindy Forbes and husband, Jack; brothers, Johnny Oney and Michael Phillips and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Hayden Ricks, Heavenley Adams, Cooper Dake, Harley Dake, Jenson Oney and Ezra Sharp; girlfriend, Theresa McDonald and best friend, Linda Oney along with other family and friends.
