David L. Raney Sr., 69, of Waskom, Texas, passed away on July 26, 2026.

He was born on March 30, 1957, in Texarkana, Texas to Ed Raney and Angie "Marie" Spicer. David had been a member of the Waskom community since 1989. He spent the last 43 years of his life at Tri-State Fasteners in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he proudly served as manager. He was deeply grateful for the guidance, friendship, and mentorship of Jarrell Poole, whose influence helped shape both his career and the man he became. David
loved his work and took great pride in it. He believed in working hard, showing up for the people you love, and never making excuses.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Regina; his son, David L. Raney Jr., and his wife, Meagan; his daughter, Catherine Dunn, and her husband, Ben; his stepson, Jon Dainty Jr., and his partner, Jennifer; his sister, Kathy Allred; his sister, Christie Cutarelli, and her husband, Ezio; and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, including George Hatfield, whom he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Mary Title and Janet Jordan; and his nephew, Jason Jordan.

At David's request, no service will be held.

David will be remembered for his sense of humor, his intense drive and determination, and his strength and perseverance—living with multiple sclerosis for 50 years and a cancer diagnosis for the last three years. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
