A service for Mrs. Diana Gay Davidson, 77, of Marshall, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Downs Funeral Home. Visitation will take place before the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Diana Gay Davidson was born on September 4, 1946, to Robert Lee Brown and Theda Bara Harris. She passed away in Jefferson, Texas, on June 30, 2024. Diana was a nurse for over 35 years and had many interests.  In her youth, she loved to rodeo and was one of the first women to compete in cutting horse competitions. After she stopped competing in horse shows, she played music for over thirty years, playing drums, bass, guitar, and singing. She founded and played in the bands Texas Pryde and Southern Legacy, performing across East Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and anywhere else they could find a gig. She was also an avid animal lover who enjoyed all types of animals and would be the first to take in a stray dog that needed a home.

Diana was a social person who loved to entertain, always inviting friends to the family home for cookouts and get-togethers. She cherished her family and friends and the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Davidson; her son, Shea Davidson, and his wife, Kelli; her sister and best friend, Halle Biery; her brother, James Brown; and her grandchildren, Trinity Heaton and Kennedy Davidson. She is also survived by numerous other family members and close friends. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Brown and Theda Bara Harris.
