Funeral Services for Diane Kates Weathersby, 56, of Dallas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marshall.

Mrs. Diane Kates Weathersby, daughter of Alton Kates, Sr. and the late Geneva Clark Kates, was born September 14, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior and was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas.

She was united in marriage with Eric Weathersby in 1996. To this union two children were born, Eric Weathersby, Jr.(deceased) and Malik Weathersby.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three siblings: Alton Kates, Jr, Monique Hawkins, and Tina Kates. Her beloved niece and four nephews: Apiphany Kates, Andrew Hawkins, Christopher Hawkins, Howard McNutt and Charles James. Two uncles: Harold Clark and Leonard Clark. Her loving stepmother, Edna Kates, step siblings: Tami Vaughn and Michael Vaughn. Step niece and nephew: Jasmin McDuffie and Cameron McDuffie. Her Goddaughter, Charita Lovely, and other relatives and friends.
