Funeral services for Diann Douglas, 73 of Marshall will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Bro. David Rice and Bro. James Runnels officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m., Thursday at the church prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 4p.m., Thursday June 26, 2014 in Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper, TX. Mrs. Douglas passed away June 23, 2014 at her home. Diann Douglas was born May 29, 1941 in Kirbyville, TX to Elliot and Leola Peoples Hawthorne. She married Terry Douglas in Homa, LA on October 6, 1961. Diann was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and pastors wife. In addition she served as past president of the executive committee of the Baptist Convention of Pennsylvania/ South Jersey. She loved investing in women and worked in many aspects of women's ministry. Diann enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving Diann are her husband, Terry Douglas of Marshall; her children; Denise Welch and husband Jack of Marshall, Dana Meade of Oxford, PA and Terry Douglas, Jr. and wife Christine of Mission Viejo, CA; grandchildren, Rachael and Jay Grant of Salena, TX, Jeff Welch of Marshall, Brad and Stephanie Welch of McKinney, Josh Haggard, Haley Haggard both of Barrington, New Hampshire, and Owen Douglas and Cole Douglas both of Mission Viejo, CA; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Harvie Hawthorne.
