A Funeral Service for Dianne Hill, 63, of Waskom will be held at 10:00am, Monday, July 03, 2017 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home followed by a private family burial. Visitation with family and friends will take place Sunday, July 02, 2017 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at the funeral home. Ms. Hill passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Waskom after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ruby Dianne Hill was born in Laurel, Mississippi in 1953 to Dewey and Marie Hill. She is survived by her brother, John Hill; sisters, Dale Howard and Vickie Rodgers and her husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Lizzie Myers, Trevor Myers and his wife, Lauren; and one great-grandson, Daniel Myers.

Growing up, Dianne attended the First Presbyterian Church of Waskom and Waskom Public Schools where she was a graduate of the class of 1971. A family joke was her dislike of school. Her first grade teacher, Mrs. Bess Corbett, had a hard time keeping Dianne in the classroom.

As she grew older, Dianne enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends. She enjoyed gardening and had a "green thumb". Dianne could grow anything and then give it to a friend. She and Nanny would can fig preserves or jelly which everyone loved.
