Doris Marie Carpenter was born in Holden, Mass to Sheridan Alphonse Wyman and Fannie Lillian Gibbons Wyman on October 15, 1935. She passed away Sunday, December 04, 2016 at her residence in Marshall, Texas. She worked at Thikol for a number of years before becoming a waitress at Pine Crest Country Club in Longview where she worked for 30 years. She loved and enjoyed her Chinese Pugs, Dixie and Prissy.

She is survived by her children Darlene Gauvin and husband Richard of Massachusetts, Bernie Gratton and wife Velma and Ron Gratton and wife Deb, all of South Carolina, Donna Carpenter and Jeff Davis of Jefferson, Jimmy Carpenter and wife Robin of Kilgore, and Susan Powell and husband Adam of Marshall. Also surviving Ms. Carpenter are her sister Dorothy Kelton of Massachusetts, 3 nieces, 18 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, and her little dog "Duke".

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 6 th at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall.
