The family of Doris McMahen will host a Memorial Service at 10:30a.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Waskom. Reverend, Sherry Crenshaw will officiate. A visitation with family and friends will take place Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Downs Funeral Home from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Ms. McMahen passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Shreveport, LA.

Doris Ann McMahen was born May 18, 1935 in Panola County, Texas to Jack and Gracie Bailey. Doris was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Waskom. She was active in her church and loved her church family. She was known by many for her servant heart and enjoyed doing for others. Doris enjoyed giving and was well known for apple bread. In her younger years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing. In more recent years, she enjoyed BINGO, but most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Those left to cherish the memories of Doris McMahen are her children, Donita McMahen and Teri McMahen; sibling, Gay Coleman; grandchildren, Dustin Heath, Justin Heath, and Hanna Heath; two great-grandchildren, Weston Heath and Brentlee Heath.

Preceding Doris in death were her parents, Jack and Gracie Bailey; husband, Billy McMahen; four brothers and two sisters.
