A graveside service for Doris (Fry) Thornton, 96, of Hallsville, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Woodlawn, Texas.

Doris was born in Hallsville, Texas on September 4, 1929, to Clarence Fry and Bertha Russell Fry and passed away on November 21, 2025, at home with her loving son, John.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bertha Fry; husband, John H. Thornton; daughter, Eva Jo Harley and son, James R. Thornton.

She is survived by her sister, Jackie Smith; daughter, Linda Carroll and husband, Carlos; sons, John Thornton and wife, Patsy and Clarence Thornton and wife, Kathy; her grandson, Paul Connolly, whom she raised; eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews along with other family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all.
