A funeral service for Doug Buchanan will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 2:00p.m. in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home, Bob Bryant will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Downs Funeral Home.

Doug Buchanan, 71 of Marshall, Texas was born on March 5, 1949 in DeRidder, LA to his parents, Frank Buchanan and Anne Patrick Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan passed away in Shreveport, LA on December 23, 2020. He loved classic cars, going downtown on the second Saturday for cruise nights, and was a member of "Rusty Lug Nuts". Mr. Buchanan also enjoyed going fishing and spending time with his family and grandkids.

Mr. Buchanan is survived by his wife, Sherry Buchanan; children, Paul Noblit and spouse, Jessie, Shannon Noblit and spouse, Danielle, Donna Hallman and spouse, Glenn, Andrea Buchanan McFarlain and spouse, Darren, Lori Buchanan Barleigh and spouse, Jarred; and Nathan Noblit and spouse, Beverly; brothers, Larry Buchanan and spouse, Robin, and Horace Nelly and spouse, LouAnn; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mr. Buchanan is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Buchanan and wife, Anne.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Aaron Hallman, Jordan Hallman, Stephen Noblit, Caden Noblit, Dylan McFarlain, and Brody Jackson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Connor Martin and Alberto Sauceda.
