Mr. Eddie James Washington, Sr. was born in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas on July 13, 1941. He was the first child born to the late James Washington and Bertha L. Jenkins Washington. At an early age he united with the Pine Bluff Baptist Church. Mr. Eddie James Washington Sr. received his education at Karnack Public School in Karnack, Texas, and later moved to H.B. Pemberton in Marshall, Texas. During his early years, he worked at Mid-West Abrasive Inc. and Endeco Engineers for more than thirty years. He was united in marriage to the late Amelia Moore Murray and to this union, two children were born. His father and mother preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter, Rita Phillips (Alvin) of Marshall; a son, Eddie Washington Jr., (Sherita) of Virginia Beach, VA; a loving sister, Josephine Washington Singleton of Marshall, Texas; seven grandchildren, Tamelia, Alvin Jr., and Finest Phillips, Kayce, Jamie, Cherita and Jasmine Washington; and eight great grandchildren; two nieces, Bonnie Jenkins and Sharon Shaw; a great niece, Erica Jenkins and three great nephews, Eric and Eron Jenkins, and Carlos Shaw; a special friend, Gladys Greene; and a host of other relatives and friends.
