A visitation for Edmond "Ed" V. Jones will be held from 4-6p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home.

Edmond "Ed" V. Jones 82, of Waskom, Texas passed away January 7, 2019 in Shreveport, LA. Mr. Jones was born April 14, 1936 in Waskom, TX to his parents, John Pratt Jones and Lucy Lavenia Vaughan. Mr. Jones loved his family and wife more than anything. He loved his church, First Baptist of Waskom, Texas. He owned and operated Holly House Florist and Nursey in Waskom, Texas. Mr. Jones loved to play golf; he made seven holes in one's in his lifetime and for thirty years went to The Swine Club in North Carolina to play golf. He also loved to play cards, with no money involved.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Hazel Jones; brother, John P. Jones Jr. and spouse, Jeanie; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sarah C. Jones, Nancy L. Peak and husband, John; daughter, Connie Girdler.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers any donations be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude's.
