Gina graduated from Marshall High School in 1955 and graduated from North Texas State University in 1959 with a degree in Education. She taught in the Garland, Paul Pewitt and Marshall School Districts, serving as a reading and math teacher to many. She served as the Headmaster for Trinity Episcopal School for two years before finally retiring from teaching in 1981.
After retiring Gina and Rusty enjoyed trips to Europe, ballroom dancing, cruises with friends and spending time at their place on Caddo lake. She especially loved family beach trips - she loved having all of her kiddos in one place. She loved playing bridge and 42 with her friends and was pretty competitive. She made holidays simply magical, leaving no detail unturned from decor to food, to special family time, and the famous Christmas parties. Holidays were her favorite times, especially Christmas. She could shop like no one's business…hours on end. She had a flair for fashion and bling, and down to her last days, would comment on pretty shoes and sweaters. No matter how far away, she attended her grandchildren's sporting and special events, graduations and birthdays. She had a unique way of making each of her grandchildren feel that they were her favorite. In her later years she and Omer spent their summers in Creede, Colorado enjoying the cool weather and beautiful mountains. She made friends wherever she was and her circle of personal relationships was huge. She was a wonderful Mother, a strong Christian woman, intelligent and blessed with a great sense of humor. Her family and her friends were blessed to have known her.
