Services for Edna "Josie" Howell, 70, of Marshall, Texas, will be held 2pm Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Cowboy Church of Harrison County, Hallsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Harleton, Texas. A time of visitation will take place from 6pm to 8pm Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Downs Funeral Home. Josie Howell was born April 10, 1945 in Longview, Texas to the late Wesley Narmore of Harleton, TX, and the late Catherine Pruitt Narmore of Fort Townsend, OK. Ms. Howell was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family. Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Catherine Narmore; husband, John Barnes and grandson, Donald Wayne Ramsey. She is survived by her four children; daughter, Teresa Vader and husband, Kendall; daughter, Laurie Ramsey and husband, Donald; son, Wesley E. Richey, Sr. and wife, Heather; daughter Beatrice Bowman and husband, Bryan; five grandchildren; Nicole Guillotte, Wendy Vader, Kimberly Nunley and husband, Billy, Wesley E. Richey, Jr. and Blake E. Richey; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Janie Rogers and nephew Kenneth Monk, as well as many other family members, friends and her church family at the Cowboy Church of Harrison County and the Longview Salvation Army. The family asks that donations be made in her name to the Cowboy Church of Harrison County, Hallsville, TX, and the Longview Salvation Army.
