Funeral services for Edward J. Roberts, Jr., 55 of Marshall will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Vaniber officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Roberts passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his residence. Edward J. Roberts, Jr. was born on March 16, 1958 in Marshall, Texas to Alan Michael Roberts, Sr. and Stattie Mozelle Agnor Roberts. He graduated from Marshall High School. Edward was known as "The Snow Cone Man" who enjoyed playing dominoes and poker. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and he loved singing karokee, Elvis, and especially Charley Daniels, who was his favorite. Survivors are his daughter, Michelle Roberts of Austin; sons, Edward J. Roberts, III of Ft. Hood, and Justin Christopher Roberts of Alexandria VA; brother, Alan "Mickey" Roberts, Jr. of Lafayette LA. Also surviving him are his nieces and nephews, Bennie Dee Roberts, Alan Michael Roberts, III, Lindsay Roberts and Leslie Robertd, Jay-Michael Turner, Noah Adam Turner and other relatives also survive Mr. Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Libby Ann Wolske and Patricia Roberts Turner..
