Obituary

Edwin Fletcher Christian age 81, of Marshall, Texas passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025.

Born on December 21, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Ed lived a life defined by strength, dedication, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed a lifelong sense of discipline, integrity, and resilience.

After his military service, Ed dedicated 43 years of his life to General Motors, where he was known for his tireless work ethic, precision, and loyalty. He took pride in every task he undertook, and his legacy there is one of quiet strength and dependability. He was a weather watcher and a proud Ambassador of WRN, Weather-Ready Nation, keeping many people abreast of breaking weather news via Ef/DeBerry/Bethany Neighborhood Watch on FaceBook. As a devout Christian; Ed encouraged and witnessed to many people through his daily posts always ending with "Walk daily with God at your side!  Love always, Ed"

At home, Ed was a firm but loving father to his three sons, instilling in them the importance of hard work, honesty, and striving for excellence. His expectations were high, but they were rooted in his deep desire to see his children succeed and grow into strong, capable men.

The great love of his life was his wife, Ann, to whom he was married for 35 years. Their bond was one of enduring devotion—steady, quiet, and deeply felt. In both everyday moments and the most difficult times, his love for her was clear and constant.

Ed will be remembered as a man of few words but immense presence. His strength shaped his family, his work ethic inspired those around him, and his loyalty never wavered. He leaves behind a legacy of grit, love, and honor.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ann; his sons Edwin "Eddie" Joseph Christian, James "Jimmy" Andrew Christian and Robert John Christian; his grandchildren Dalila, Gabriela (Jimmy's  daughters) and Lauren (Eddie's daughter) ; stepson, John M Cameron; sister, Barbara Christian; and a host of extended family, friends, and former colleagues who respected and admired him deeply.
