Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Smith will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Yates Memorial Cemetery in Scottsville. A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 27th at the Downs Funeral Home. Ms. Smith passed away April 24, 2015 in Marshall. Elizabeth Ann Smith was born on December 16, 1926 in Lackey, Kentucky to Cornilious Hale and Marie Hall Hale. She married Vernon Smith on April 25, 1964 in Covington, Kentucky. She was a housewife, and member of Sunset Baptist Church. Ms. Smith is survived by her children, Charlotte McClenan, Ronald Sexton, both of Marshall, Brenda Sexton of Longview, Jack Sexton of Kilgore, Bill Sexton of Wise, Virginia, Denny Sexton of Mansfield, Ohio, Charles Sexton of Abilene, and Judy Reedy of Portsmouth, Ohio. Also surviving Ms. Smith are 31 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Hale, her daughter Sue Sexton, and her husband of almost fifty years, Vernon Smith.
