Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Mae McCracken, 76 of Marshall will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday December 02, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday December 01, 2012 at the funeral home. Mrs. McCracken passed away November 28, 2012 in Marshall. Elsie Mae McCracken was born February 09, 1936 in Sherman, Texas to Andrew and Lona Mae Giles Sims. She married Donald Wayne McCracken, Sr. in 1971. Elsie was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She loved to cook and sew as well as crafting and collecting birdhouses. She also loved butterflies and her dachshund, August. Elsie was a devoted wife, adoring mother, and a loving grandmother and great - grandmother. Surviving Elsie are her husband, Donald Wayne McCracken, Sr.; four sons, Andy Gauntt and wife Ruth, Donny McCracken and wife Jamie, George McCracken, and Jamie Gauntt and wife Linda; three granddaughters, Amy Stafford and husband Bobby, Lyndy Green and husband Kraig, and Autumn Smiddy and husband Josh; one grandson, J.D. McCracken and fiancé Kara Jimerez and three great-grandchildren, Drew and Alayna Stafford and Kaleb Green. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Darlene Yaw and son, Frank McCracken. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Lyons, George McCracken, Donny McCracken, Kevin Haliburton, Wayne Cisco, and Kraig Green.
