A funeral service for Mr. Emmett Stoker will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop King A. Rosborough will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Downs Funeral Home.

Emmett Stoker was born December 24, 1923 in Harleton, Texas to the late Albert Stoker Sr. and Essie Mae Bailey Stoker, whom proceeds him in death. He confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at New Prospect Baptist Church in Harleton, Texas.

Emmett received his education at Harleton Public Schools in Harleton, Texas.

Emmet served in the United States Army and WWII, and later received an honorable discharge.

Emmett worked for Letourneau Boral Brick Company and a variety of other jobs.

Emmett married Olie Mae Greening, who proceeded him in death. Later he married Della Woodberry to this union eight children were born.

On April 15, 2021 Emmett transitioned from labor to rest.

Proceeding him in death is one son- St. James Lewis; one granddaughter, Della M. Lilly; two great grandsons, Patrick Milliage and Sir Henry Clough III; one sister, Le'Anna Woodberry; and seven brothers, Henry James Stoker, Sammy Lee Stoker, Otha Stoker, Albert Stoker Jr., L. E. Stoker, Nelson Stoker, and Robert Stoker.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories four sons, L. K. Lilly (Carolyn), Billy Lilly (Mary), Darron Stoker, Ivory Stoker (Katina); five daughters, Michelle Revels Stoker (Larry), Emma Kay Stoker, Vera Wright, Betty Stoker, Teresa Stoker Rollison (Kenneth); 33 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 14 great great-grandchildren, a host of special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends to always cherish his memories.
