A funeral service for Erma Jean Hollie, 88, of Longview will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Hollie passed away on January 8, 2023, at her residence in Longview, Texas.

She was born in Marshall, Texas on May 10, 1934, to Willis and Rosetta Coleman. She was the seventh child born of eight children. She passed away from this life on January 8, 2023.  Jean, as she was known, was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willie "Bud" Hollie; a daughter, Carolyn Jean Hollie; her siblings, Mary Ella Christian, Myrtle Ruth Campbell, Willie Mae Willis, Willis Coleman, Jr., Henry Coleman, Mary Lois Carter, and Gladys Coleman.

Jean received Christ at an early age at Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church. She later attended church at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Spiritual #2. Jean was educated in the Marshall Public Schools and worked as a caregiver for many years. She loved fishing, working in the yard, and hosting family get togethers where the family enjoyed playing bingo, cards, dominoes, and other games.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Latitia Wilson (Oscar) of Longview, TX; granddaughters, Kim Wilson of Cedar Hill, TX and Tiffany Todd of DeSoto, TX; great grandchildren, Arianna Jones, Clifton Todd, II, and Trinitee Todd; bonus daughter, Velma May (Cleo) and grandchildren (Travis and Chris); and numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other loved ones.
