Funeral services for Ethel Mae Smith Williams, 91 of Marshall will be held at 3:00 P.m., Sunday, June 15, 2014 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Longridge Cemetery. Viewing will be from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the funeral home. Ethel Mae Smith Williams was born March 15, 1923 to the parentage of Clinton Smith, Sr. and Flossie B. Hill Smith. She was a member of the Greater Longridge C.M.E. Church, and was the treasurer for a number of years. She worked for City Laundry in Marshall. Ms. Ethel passed away June 7, 2014. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Norma Jean Williams Johnson of Dallas, Holsey Olan Williams, Jr. of Marshall, Joe Harold Williams of Tyler, Pennie Marie Williams Lister of Marshall, Sly L. Williams of Marshall; brother, Billy Ray Smith of Waskom; sisters, Jessie Mae Smith Cato (Roy) of Dallas, LaRuth Smith of Dallas, Barbara Ann Smith of Dallas, Virgie Bernice Smith Jackson of Los Angeles, CA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and cherished friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Holsey Olan Williams, Sr.; brothers, Clinton Smith, Jr., J.W. Smith, Charles Edward Smith, Willie C. Smith, George Harold Smith; and sister, Althea Smith Hodge.
