Funeral services for Eunice Thomas Benjamin, 92, of Marshall, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 2015 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Nichols Cemetery. Eunice Thomas Benjamin was born December 22, 1922 to Calvin and Erie Thomas in Elysian Fields, Texas. She died Wednesday evening, March 18, 2015. On November 1, 1959, she was baptized to become a faithful Jehovah's Witness. Eunice met and married Johnnie Benjamin. To that union, 6 daughters and 3 sons were born. She is survived by her children, Isaac Calvin Benjamin (Bonita) of Jefferson, Brenda Bryan (Stanley), Eddie J. Benjamin (Lizzie), Linda Reed (Donald), all of Marshall, Fenitta Gardner of Mesquite, Alton C. Benjamin of Dallas and Annette Bedell of Mesquite; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Erie Thomas; her husband, Johnnie Benjamin; 4 brothers; and 2 daughters, Eddie Jewell Benjamin and Johnny Ruth Stano.
