A graveside service for Eva Christine Morse Roberts, 89, of Jefferson, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2025, at Liberty Cemetery in Harleton, Texas.

Eva was born on March 12, 1936, in Borger, Texas to Virgil Eustace Morse and Velma Christine Culp Morse and passed away on April 12, 2025, in Jefferson, Texas.

She worked for the Harrison County District Clerk's Office for a number of years. She was the manager of Harleton Water Department for five years and also worked for several banks in the area. She loved birds, flowers and spending time with her family.

She was a dedicated mother, often playing games, and tricks on her children and grandchildren. No matter how busy she was between work, cleaning, or cooking, she would always make time for her family. She was often happiest spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially around the holidays and family gatherings, when they were all together, sharing stories and enjoying delicious homecooked meals together.

She met the love of her life, Paul Roberts, in 1981. He brought a special love to her life and lived a happy life together for 44 years. Eva loved to travel, and with her and Paul sharing a birthday, and would often celebrate by taking special trips throughout their many years together.

Many in the family would regale in stories of how she loved them and how much of an amazing woman, not only because of the love she had for her family, but also for her love of God. She was dedicated to the Lord, who grew increasingly dear to her as time went on and said how she wanted everyone in her family to go to Heaven with her. "We will miss her hugs and her laughs."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Velma Morse. Her brother, Joe Morse, and her grandson, Eric Joseph Wood.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Roberts; children, Christy Kay Mercer (Sam), Margie Nell Reno, Larry Joe Wood, Lori Elizabeth McAlister (Eddie) and Michele Renee McConnaughhay (Ben); siblings, Virgil Morse, Leslie Morse, Oleta Morse Hughes and Juanita Morse Childress; eight grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild along with other friends and family.
