Obituary

Florine was born on March 24, 1921 to Carl and Ruth Arrington Hodge in Stephens, Arkansas where she also attended school. She was raised on a self-supporting farm by Christian parents who instilled the love of God and family in her and her siblings. She knew that we are put on this earth for one reason and that was to prepare for Heaven and she followed that philosophy and passed it on to her family until the very end of her precious life. She left this life for a better one on Tuesday, May 29th at 2:30 a.m. in Jefferson, Texas. She married Royce Carwile Lundy, the first true love of her life, on June 16, 1939. He left this world with her by his side on November 30, 1986. On February 9, 1991 she married Glen Miller whom she had known for several years through her church. They enjoyed 21 years together and she loved him dearly. Florine worked for Sears from 1956 until 1968 when she started her own business, Flo's Specialty Shop, a ladies apparel shop, in Marshall, She loved the world of fashion and enjoyed a special relationship with her customers. Florine was a faithful member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ until her health failed and she moved into Magnolia Nursing Home in Jefferson, Texas in 2007. She missed attending services and her church family. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and her love was unconditional. Those left to mourn her are her husband, Glen Miller; daughter and son-in-law Lynda and Freddie Waits of Marshall; step-daughter, Sharyn Simmons of Marshall; step-sons, Jerry (Sharon) Miller of Longview and Aly (Pam) Miller of Marshall; brother-in-law, Dick (Dorothy) Lundy of Marshall; grandchildren, Jason Waits, Rachel (Tyson) Cochran, Tiffany Lundy, Jacob Crawford, all of Marshall, Lee Lundy of Longview and Sybriea Lundy of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Tori Waits, Jordan, Roman and Morgan Cochran all of Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Royce Lundy; son, Ronnie Lundy; sisters, Thala Hodge, Lucy (Alton) Clinton, Lavon Beard; brother, Alton (Lois) Hodge; and a very special niece Candy Boaze. The family wishes to acknowledge appreciation for the care she received while a resident of Magnolia Manor in Jefferson and Marshall Home Care and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Eastern Hills Church of Christ Youth Fund, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of choice.
