Funeral services for Gary Brewster, 56 of Elysian Fields, TX will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 6,2018 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Bro. David Rice and Bro. James Runnels. Interment will be in Elysian Fields Cemetery.  There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 5th at the Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, TX.  Mr. Brewster was born December 21, 1961 in Pleasant Hill, LA to Rueben Preston Brewster and Joyce Tomlson.   Gary died February 3, 2018 in Elysian Fields.

Gary was the glue that held the family together. He loved life, family and meeting people. He not only loved to cook, he was quite a gardener who loved working in his yard and keeping it nice with lots of flowers. Gary loved to travel and watching Star Trek, spending good quality time with his nieces and nephews, and loved his dogs.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Joyce Tomlson; siblings, Betty Campbell & Tracy Bridges, Virginia & Steve Oliver, Tommy & Patricia Brewster, and Tammy Williams. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family, friends, and all his dogs that he loved like they were his kids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rueben Brewster; grandparents, Willy G & Ida Mae Brewster, Theo & Vivian Brian; nephews William Campbell and Christopher Meshell; niece, Neveah Campbell, and his favorite dog, Bandit.
