Funeral services for Gary L. Loyd, 66, of Waskom will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Bro. Allan Ketchum and Bro. Eric Peyton will officiate. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery, Waskom. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Loyd passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Gary L. Loyd was born January 15, 1946 in Shreveport, LA to Rufus and Aubrey Pearson Loyd. On January 7, 1967, Gary married Shirley Heflin in New Orleans, LA. He was a maintenance supervisor for C. Burgett & Associates. He served his country in the National Guard. Gary was a member of First Assembly of God of Waskom. Gary is survived by his wife Shirley Loyd of Waskom; sons, Chad Loyd and wife Teresa', Dane Loyd and wife Susan, all of Waskom; sister, Sonya Worley and husband Donny of Blanchard, LA; brother, David Loyd and wife Dickie of Blanchard, LA; sister-in-law, Margarete Loyd of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Justin Loyd and wife Tabatha, J.D. Loyd, Colton Loyd and Brookelyn Loyd; great-grandson, Trayson Allen Loyd; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Aubrey Loyd and brother, Darrell Loyd. Pallbearers will be Lee McFarland, Bob Goode, Mark Bridges, Ronald Lovasen, Charlie Sawyer and Tracy Fullen. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Soloman, Charlie Baugh, Moochie Riddle and Ray Green.
