A funeral service for Gerald "Jerry" W. Miller, 78, of Bossier City, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Waskom, Texas.

Gerald was born on December 2, 1944, in Anaheim, California to Willie Miller and Rudene Edith Willis and passed away on February 21, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

He was the only child born to his parents, Willie and Rudene Miller. He was a graduate of Waskom High School where he played basketball, football and golf. He was a very athletic in his younger years. He was avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and deer hunting. He loved hanging out with a group of his buddies and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all he loved his family and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rudene Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christine Miller; children, Thumper Miller and wife, Tracy, Kim Holmes and husband, Jimmy, Denise Norton and Donna LaMarita, Christy Gentry and Heath Sanders and Elizabeth Gill; grandchildren, Josh Miller, Jon Miller, Jordan Spratt, Jessi Miller, Dustin Willis, Kyle Willis, Amanda Willis, Scott Mullens and Morgan Gentry; numerous great grandchildren and a special niece, Betty Swanson along with numerous other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society or to The Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation.
