Mr. Gery Wayne Dixon, Sr. was born on January 12, 1952 in Springhill, LA to proud parents, Henry and Mary Dixon. He was a graduate of Wiley College and retired from Norit Americus after 30 years. It was at Wiley College where he met and married wife Dianne. He was the second joy of her life, acknowledging our Lord and Savior as the first. To their union three adorable children were born, a daughter and two sons; daughter, Courtney Allison Dixon of Alexandria, VA and sons, Gery Wayne Dixon, Jr. (Vahista) and Christopher Jordan Dixon. He was a very active member of his beloved Peoples MBC, having served in many capacities under the Reverend Ulus Bailey. Other survivors include his mother, Mary Salsberry of Shreveport,LA; sister, Marion Bethune of Marshall, TX; sister, Gail Bailey of Shreveport, LA; three grandchildren, Tichina, Brianna, and Gery Wayne Dixon, III and a number of in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
