A memorial service for Gildardo Morales Hernandez, 58, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home.

Gildardo was born on June 22, 1965, in Tixtla de Guerrero, Guerrero, Mexico to Eusebio Morales and Cesarea Hernandez and passed away on July 17, 2023, in Marshall, Texas.

At the age of 15, Gildardo moved to Morelia, Michoacan to finish high school. There, he met his future wife, Elia Talavera at the age of 17. Later at the age of 20, he moved to the Port of Lazaro Cardenas and worked as a container crane operator for over 18 years. On December 10, 1986, he married his wife, Elia and the two were married for 37 years. At the age of 31 he graduated as an electromechanical engineer. In 2008, he moved to Marshall, Texas where he worked at IHOP as a cook and worked at Merrytime Products as a maintenance technician. His hobbies were playing soccer, floriculture as well as going fishing every chance he had. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eusebio Morales and Cesarea Hernandez.

He is survived by his wife, Elia Talavera; daughter, Tamara Morales; son, Bladimir Morales and grandchildren, Aldo Fabian, Zuñiga, Itza Vanessa, Zuñiga, Iktén Itzae, Talavera and Isaac, Talavera along with numerous other family and friends.
