Funeral services for Gladys Nell Watson, 71 of Marshall will be held at 2 p.m., Friday September 02, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Flanagan and Father Denzil Vithage officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday September 01, 2011 at the funeral home. Gladys Nell Watson was born May 31, 1940 in Cass Co., Texas to Alex and Lillie Pearleen Powell. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side August 27, 2011 in Marshall. She was a Baptist and enjoyed many hobbies, such as gardening and fishing and most of all her grandkids and great-grandkids. They were her pride and joy, she loved "her babies". She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 45 years, Edgar Marion Watson, grandchildren, "Lil" Pete, Jeremy and Jeff, her parents and numerous brothers and sisters. Surviving Gladys are her brothers and sisters, Vera Fike, Decie Jackson, Ella Alexander, Katherine Garrett and spouse Bobby, Jamie Powell, Carl Powell and spouse Brenda and Robert Powell and spouse Arlene. Also surviving are her children, Charlotte Alexander and spouse Billy Ray and their children, Cody and Colby; Alice James and spouse Billy Joe and their children, Heather and Billy, Jr.; Betty O'Bryan and spouse Gary and their child, George and George's children, Remmington, Hollie and Whitney, great-grandchildren, Talen , Tanner, Steven and spouse Carol, Christina and spouse Mickel and their children, Tuff, Madison, Mason and Mechelle; James Watson ;Kenneth Watson and his children, Kenny and Kailey ; Barbara Waxler and her child, Lori Ann; Roy Watson and his children, Roy, Jr., Hannah and Shelby; Alex Watson and spouse Mary Jean and their children, Catayshia, Kristian, Ken and Courtney; Geraldine Watson and her children, Jesse and Candace and Candace's children, Levi and Baylee; Harold Watson; Jerry Watson and his children, Dolton and Emily; Brenda Watson and spouse Willie and their children, Samantha, Katelyn, Ashlyn and Aaliyah; Charles Watson and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers are John Balensia, Roger Woods, Jesse Alejandro, George O'Bryan, Jr. Steven O'Bryan, and Cody Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Lehmon Ryan and her sons and grandsons.
