Services for Gloria Dianne Thomas, 71, of Marshall, Texas will be Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas with Apostle James Morrow officiating. Interment will be at Rosehill Gardens Cemetery, Marshall. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home.

Gloria Dianne Thomas was born November 10, 1944 to Robert Hurd and Myrtle Ruth Campbell in Marshall, Texas. She graduated from H.B. Pemberton High School, attended Bishop College and Wiley College where she graduated.  She was Site Coordinator at G.W. Carver with the Marshall Independent School District.  She was a member of the Murry League Baptist Church in Ore City, Texas. Ms. Thomas departed this life on September 10, 2016 at Good Shepherd Medical Center Marshall.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Robert Hurd and Myrtle Ruth Campbell and step father, Randolph C. Campbell.

She is survived by her son, Derek D. Thomas (Julie); daughter, Dedra C. Thomas; grandchildren, Keydron Thomas, Keynan Thomas, Kierrah Thomas, Kyandria Thomas, Bailey Thomas, Samantha Thomas, Jade Thomas, Shane Thomas and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
