Obituary

Glynn "Bubbo" Morehead, Sr. Glynn"Bubbo" --(pronounced Bobo) Morehead, Sr was born September 9, 1939 in Marshall, TX to Bill Morehead and Dorothy Louise Jones Morehead. He passed away August 23, 2013 in Longview, Texas. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Bubbo married Margaret Ann Carroll on July 22, 1960 in Marshall, Texas. They had two sons, Glynn Morehead, Jr and Michael Morehead. He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ann, his father Bill Morehead, his son Glynn Morehead Jr, and his cherished grandparents, James Albert Jones and Deborah Jane Chadd Jones. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Morehead, of Lufkin, TX; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike Morehead and Laurie Muse Morehead of Marshall; his grandson, Larami Michael Morehead of Marshall; his sister and brother-in-law JoAnn Heflich and Chip Heflich of Richardson; his sister Jane Standifird of Lufkin; his special friend, Nancy Bachman of Marshall, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Morehead retired from the Texas Highway Department in March of 1990, where he drove a maintainer and was a foreman. He loved his family and was so proud of"his boys", Glynn, Mike, and Larami, and his daughter-in-law, who he always referred to as"Laurie Darlin'." He loved to tell stories about many times spent withhis friends, when they were in the Saddle Club, and endless stories about his long haul truck driving days (that he began when he was 16 years old), carrying loads from Florida to California, and especially stories about his trips with his Daddy,"Nandaddy", who also drove a truck, and was the reason for Bubbo wanting to be a truck driver. He loved the outdoors, working in his yard, and sitting on his porch. He was talking to Mike a few weeks ago, and was telling him how proud that he was of him and of the man that he had become. He told him to stay in Church, no matter what. He shared with Mike that he had lived a long life. He said that he had lived a lot of good times, and had made it through some bad times too, but that he was tired and was ready to go Home. He wanted to see his family that he hadn't seen in a while, and missed so much. He told Mike that they would all see each other again one day. He will be missed by all of his family, but his family takes comfort in knowing that this life is a short journey, and that they will all be together again, reunited in the presence of our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
