Funeral services for Grace Ashby Yates, 86, of DeBerry, TX will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 at DeBerry Baptist Church with Bro. Eric Wilburn and Bro. Dick Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow at DeBerry Cemetery with Rev. Alton Ashby officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Yates passed away October 7, 2013. Grace Ashby Yates was born March 16, 1927, in Pleasant Hill, LA to A.D. and Beulah Allen Ashby. She attended Blanchard, LA schools. Grace married Richard F. Yates Sr., and he preceded her in death. She was a member of DeBerry Baptist Church. Grace lived for her family, loved her church and dedicated her life doing for others. Grace is survived by her son, Frank Yates and his wife Linda of DeBerry; granddaughter, Kristi Spain of Marshall; grandsons, Wesley Yates and wife Jennifer of DeBerry, Brent Yates of Marshall; great grandchildren, Karli Spain of Marshall, Trinity Ford, Haleigh Ford, both of Shreveport, LA; and brother, Ronnie Ashby of Shreveport. Pallbearers will be Dean Yates, Pat Yates, Darrel Yates, Tim Harris, Gary Bertrand, and Nathan Ashby. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Yates, Mike Yates, Ronnie Ashby and Charles Ashby.
