Harold Wayne Calhoun (Dr. Pepper Man) Funeral services for Harold Wayne Calhoun (Dr. Pepper Man), 74, of Marshall, TX, will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. D.W. McLendon and Bill Beene will officiate. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Calhoun passed away September 12, 2013 in Marshall. Harold Calhoun was born November 15, 1938 in Loraine, TX to Henry Edgar and Gladys Beatrice Philpot Calhoun. He worked as a truck driver from 1974-2005. Harold was a member of Crestview Church of Christ. He loved country music, and he owned thousands of records. Harold enjoyed playing horseshoes, visiting with people and helping people. Harold married Rosa Mae Meyers on February 24, 1975 in Kilgore, TX. Harold is survived by his wife, Rosa Calhoun of Marshall, TX; daughter, Sylvia Lawrence of Marshall, TX; sons, Philip Calhoun of Longview, TX, David Calhoun of Marshall, TX; brother, Bobby Calhoun of Nevada, TX; grandchildren, Leslie Strong, Wesley Phares, Bradley Phares, Shelby Lawrence, Lyndsey Calhoun, Landon Calhoun, Paisley Calhoun; great grandchildren, Ryan Strong, Ryleigh Castle, Wesley Phares, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; sister, Maurine; and grandson, Brandon.
