Funeral services for Harry Jerome Johnson, 51, of Longview, TX will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Pastor Vandell Smith and Pastor Steven L. Harris officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held 6:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson passed away May 18, 2014 in Longview. Harry Jerome Johnson was born to L.C. and Christine (Aaron) Johnson on August 3, 1962 in Marshall, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. He attended Grace Missionary Baptist and St. John Baptist. He later attended St. Paul Baptist until his death. He attended the Marshall Public School District. He worked for Baker Hughes, NAPA and Steadfast. He married Laura (Kelly) Johnson on August 13, 2005. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Kenneth, Charles and Harvey Wayne. Harry leaves to cherish his memories his loving, devoted just shy of 9 years, Laura Kelly Johnson; sons, Mikel Worth, Raybon Kelly and Jaren Kelly; daughters, LaQuesha Green and Danesha Butler; grandchildren, Ja'Niya and Ja'Leyah Coats; 3 brothers, Lewis Johnson (Venola), Londell Johnson (Helen), Joe Michael Johnson (Betty); 3 sisters, Brenda Evans (Albert), Annie Ruth Pierson and Joyce Harris; 1 uncle, Paul Aaron, Sr. (Barbara), nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
