Healon Ruth Hogue Oney was born April 12, 1920, in Atlanta, Texas to Joseph and Fannie Hogue. On February 27, 1941, she married Jewel Oney and they were blessed with 49 years of marriage before his passing. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Nazarene and retired from Thiokol. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband , Jewel Oney; parents, Joseph and Fannie Hogue; daughter, Janie Bynum; brothers, Vernon, Dan Ray, and Cleburne Hogue, and sister, Eunice Wilcox. She is survived by daughters, Reba Cook and husband Kenneth of Marshall and Joyce Reddin and husband Terry of Whitehouse; son, Billy Oney and wife Linda of Marshall; sister, Beatrice McConnell of Marshall; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Downs Funeral Home. Services will be 10a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with interment to follow in Algoma North Cemetery. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ken Stokely. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ken Cook, Brandon Clark, Ronnie Evans, David Dinkins, Mark Evans and Casey Morris.
