Graveside service for Helen Greer Alexander, 87, of Marshall will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Algoma North Cemetery. Bob Bryant will officiate. A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Alexander died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 after a brief illness. Mrs. Alexander was born December 13, 1924 in Allen, Texas, the daughter of Roy and Leta Greer. She received her education in the Allen public schools. She married Ray Alexander of Marshall in 1945. They were married for 54 years. She worked for Lewis Engineering for a few years, Blue Buckle for 10 years and retired from J C Penneys after 12 years. She was a member of First Christian Church and later attended Cypress Valley Bible Church. Survivors include her daughters, Anita Stanfield and Rusty and Carol Kennedy and Mike both of Marshall; son-in-law, Edward R. Hall of Sarasota, Florida; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Leta Greer; sister, Billie Moore; husband, Ray Alexander; and daughter, Lois Hall.
