Services for Helen Ruth Alford, 81, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosehill Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Alford passed away on October 16, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

Helen was born on August 18, 1945, in Marshall, Texas to Clayborn Williams and Paralee Lane Williams and passed away on October 16, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

She loved crafting, sewing, flowers and plants and collecting figurines of all God’s Children. She was a great hostess and always made sure everyone had something to eat or drink. She could definitely cook some good food. She loved vacationing with her family. She loved her family and grandchildren wholeheartedly. She found great joy in watching them run track and watching their football games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayborn and Paralee Williams; her husband, William Alford; son, William A. Alford; four sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, LaTasha Murry and husband, Sedrick; sister, Carrie Lane; grandchildren, Damarion Murry, Ashton Alford and Justin Murry and two special nieces, Bettie Williams and Sheneque Lane-Thomas along with numerous other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
