Obituary

Mrs. Helen Juan Hearne Hollis of Woodlawn, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on February 27, 1940, in Marshall, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of the late Morgan and Elaine (Swafford) Hearne.

A proud graduate of Marshall High School's Class of 1958, Helen built her life on faith, family, and steadfast love. On February 27, 1960, she married the love of her life, Bobby E. Hollis, at Woodlawn Baptist Church. In a remarkable reflection of a life beautifully woven together, Helen was born, married, and entered eternal rest all on February 27 — a date that will forever hold deep meaning for those who loved her.

Helen was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and a legacy member of the Woodlawn Community Center, where her presence and involvement were a meaningful part of the community she loved so dearly. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided the way she cared for her family and friends.

A gifted creative spirit, Helen spent most of her life as a talented floral designer. She found great joy in creating beautiful arrangements for holidays, weddings, and special occasions, adding elegance and warmth to countless celebrations. Her artistic eye and attention to detail were expressions of the love she poured into everything she did.

After retirement, Helen devoted her time fully to caring for her family and enjoying the company of her many dear friends. Some of her most treasured memories were made at Lake of the Pines, where she loved camping, swimming, and spending time outdoors with those she loved. Like many in her family, she was an excellent cook and took great pride in preparing meals that brought everyone together. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and fellowship, and sharing her food was one of the many ways she showed her love.

Above all, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Her kindness, gentle strength, and servant's heart will be remembered by all who knew her.

Helen is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bobby E. Hollis; her children, Karen Oney and husband Frank, Toni Moore and husband Scott, and Larry Don Hollis and spouse Ricky Lyons.

She leaves behind a rich legacy through her grandchildren: Shane Moore (Laura), Ashley Moore (Evan), Lukas Moore (Brittany), J.C. Hollis, and Heather McClendon (Matthew); and her great-grandchildren, Hanna and Myles Moore.

She is also survived by her brother, Ricky Hearne (Kelly); sisters, Ann Brown, Glenda Warbington (Earl) and Wanda Adley; sister-in-law, Brenda Hearne; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, David and Delbert Hearne; her son, Toby Hollis; and her sister-in-law, Pat Hearne.

Helen's life was a testament to enduring love, creativity, faith, and devotion. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
