Henry was born to Henry G. Bergeron Sr. and Mollie Manora Williams at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, LA, October 7, 1922, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2022. Raised in Houston, TX by his mother and stepfather, Nora and Jody F. Chapman, he graduated from Milby High School, where his passion for math and science bloomed. He served in the army during WWII and due to his great aptitude in math, was accepted into the Army Specialized Training Program for Engineering at the University of Chicago. After the war, he moved to Baton Rouge to work for his grandfather's checkered cab company, using the skills he learned in the army. He then entered LSU to complete his Bachelor's degree in Physics. There while singing in the choir at Parkview Baptist Church, he met the love of his life, 18-year-old Patricia Ann Toye who he managed to steal away from her current beau. They were married on Easter Sunday, 1951 and became parents to 3 beautiful children. Henry moved with his young family to Marshall, TX when an old ETBU college buddy encouraged him to come to work with him at Atlas Powder Company. Henry became a quality control engineer and retired after 30 years of faithful service. He and his wife joined Bel Air Baptist Church where he served in many capacities for numerous years including Sunday school teacher and deacon. His claim to fame at Bel Air Baptist Church, however, was winning first prize in the church bake off for his near perfect pineapple upside down cake, proving that chemistry skills were not only helpful in the lab but in the kitchen as well! Patricia only wished those skills had been fined tuned in the kitchen at 200 Benita Dr.

Henry was a wonderful father and grandfather who spent hours with maps and brochures planning and saving for summer vacation adventures with his children and grandchildren.

Papaw Henry was a man who dearly loved his family. He spent many hours with his grandchildren and great-children at the dining table helping them with math homework, sharing stories of his childhood, working puzzles and encouraging them in all of their endeavors.

In his nearly 100 years on this Earth, he contributed so much love, laughter and kindness that all who knew him will be forever impacted.

He was preceded in death by his daughter and her husband, Wendy and Tony Coleman; and his sister Audrey Helman.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patricia Bergeron, his daughter and Son-in law Dawn and Joe Lyons and his son Jamie Bergeron. His legacy will carry on through his 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joy of his life.
