A memorial service for Herman "Hermie" Heim, Jr., 61, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Pete Sellers officiating.  A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Mr. Heim passed away on February 19, 2025, in Marshall, Texas.

Herman Edd "Hermie" Heim, Jr. was born on October 25, 1963, in Marshall, Texas to Herman Edd Heim, Sr. and Barbara Wooten Shelton and passed away on February 19, 2025, in Marshall, Texas.

He owned and operated Ashton's Wrecker Service. He enjoyed racing of all kinds, from the drag strip, to mud trucks and fast boats, playing poker and riding motorcycles with friends and family. He loved working on cars with all of his family over the years. He was full of fire, lived fast, and was always up to something! Those who know him best say life without him would have been boring. Hermie was always the man you called if you needed help; he would be there and he could fix it.

He was an adored Daddy, PawPaw, and Uncle, always ready to take the kids on a fun adventure. Most of all, he loved making memories for 38 years with the love of his life, Lisa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Edd Heim, Sr. and Barbara Shelton; his wife of 38 years, Lisa Moore Shields; his sister and brother in law, Keith Alexander and Regina Alexander Haygood, his nephew Landon Wayne Moore, and his grandson, Keyton Lane Heim.

He is survived by his children, Chelsea Heim Ratcliff and husband Mike, Chad Heim, Wade Heim, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren along with a great many other family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Heim, Chad Heim, Mike Ratcliff, Danny Vernon, Jimmy Humphries, Michael Patterson, Johnny Baker, Jared Moore, Travis Jackson, Jeff Lee and Brant Moore.
