Iva Marie Franks went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 12, 2013. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 14 at Downs Funeral Home at 2:00 with Carlton Burris officiating. Iva was born in Marshall on January 7, 1948. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1966. She worked at Marshall Exploration and Martex Well Services for more than 30 years. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends and especially her four grandsons, who were the light of her life. Iva is survived by her daughters, Stacy Doss Potter and husband Rob, of Marshall; and Shawna Doss Ellis and husband Tony, of Mansfield, TX. She was the proud Gigi of Sam and Reid Potter and Jake and Drew Ellis. She is also survived by her cousins Carla and Natalie Parrish, Mike Hazelip and Doug Hazelip, her aunt Lucille Dameron, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Franks, and mother, Ruth Franks Brunner. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73123-1718. A special thank you to the Oncology, ICU, and Select Specialty nurses, and her doctors at Good Shepard Medical Center in Longview, and her life long friend, Linda Lea for their love and care during this time.
