A funeral service for James Brown, 54, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2023, at the funeral home.

James was born on August 1, 1968, in Marshall, Texas to Earnest Eugene Brown and Wanda Louise Parker Brown and passed away on March 18, 2023, in Marshall, Texas.

He loved fishing, 4-wheeling and working on small engines. He enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and was always keeping himself busy. He had his lawnmower in the antique car show and even won a stereo competition on it. He enjoyed working for Patterson's Customs. He loved spending time at the radio station and playing their games. He learned how to have fun and enjoyed doing it.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Wanda Parker; grandparents and sister, Sandy Whaley and spouse Ronnie.

He is survived by his sisters, Wanda Jean "Jeannie" Tietze, Laurie Allen, Marie Briggs and spouse, Robert, Sara Abbott and spouse, Charles and Shannon Stanford and spouse, Gregg and brother Wayne Brown and spouse along with numerous other family and friends.
