Funeral services are pending for Mr. James Cain, 82, of Hallsville with Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Cain passed away December 23, 2010 in Longview.James Hill Cain Funeral services for James Hill Cain, 81, of Hallsville will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Judd Strawbridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Hallsville Cemetery in Hallsville, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at the Downs Funeral Home in Marshall. Mr. Cain passed away on December 23, 2010 at his residence. James Hill Cain was born in Harrison Co, Texas to Joe Cain and Minnie Hill Cain on May 19, 1929. He served in the U.S.Army, stationed in Korea He married Geraldine Barrow Cain, who preceded him in death in 1986. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad as Director of Transportation in 1976. The Cain family were pioneers in the Hallsville Area. Surviving Mr. Cain are his son Larry Cain of Hallsville and daughter-in-law, three grandchildren Terri & David Cain, and Stormie Smith, his sister-in-law Mrs. Paula Cain of Hallsville, and nephew Farow Cain. He was preceded in death no only by his wife, but also, his son Frank Cain on June 13, 2007.
