James Lee "Champ" Taylor was born July 19, 1954 to the late Jimmie Taylor and Cleadis  Allen Taylor in Marshall, Texas.   He attended Marshall Public Schools.

In 1978 James "Champ" Taylor started working for ICI later known as Cabot.  He worked there for 38 years and retired in 2016 as a Millright.  Champ Loved the Dallas Cowboys, Fishing, Dominos and spending time with Family and Friends.

James was united in marriage to the love of his life Marsha Barnes Taylor on July 25, 1999.

James was preceded in death by his parents Jimmie Taylor and Cleadis Allen Taylor, sister Rose Taylor and Ruby Smith, brother Jimmie Taylor, Jr and daughter Quasha Rochelle Taylor.

James leaves to mourn his passing A Loving Wife: Marsha Taylor of DeBerry, TX; Two Daughters: April (Willie) Helton and Erica Washington; Three Step-Daughters: Crystal Barnes, Corsica Barnes, and Cornishaca Barnes; Two Sons: Chadric Rodgers and Aaron Taylor; Two Step-Sons: Christopher Willie and Cretavius Barnes; Five Brothers: Willie (Rena) Taylor and Kenneth Taylor of Marshall, TX, Jimmie Taylor Sr., Robert (Gracie) Taylor, Johnny Taylor all of Dallas, TX, Two Sisters: Janie (James) Patterson and Geneva (Hosia) Fields both of Dallas, TX: Two Grand-daughters; Taylor and Alyssa Helton Step-Grandchildren: Kayla, Aubrey, Jaylinn, Jaxon, Isabelle, Leah, Kai, Prince, Deuce, Malik, Addison and Isiah.  A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
