Funeral services for James Andrew Coleman, 76, of Marshall will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2016 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall with Bob Bryant and Dick Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. A time of visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Coleman passed away December 31, 2015 at his residence in Marshall.

James Andrew Coleman was born on January 17, 1939 in Marion County, Texas to Robert Lee Coleman and Ruth Highlander Coleman. He married Doris Adkison Coleman on October 13, 2001 in Harleton, Texas, and was a member of Cypress Valley Bible Church. He worked as a Construction Supervisor for various construction companies. James enjoyed working on tractors, lawn mowers, and enjoyed welding. He especially enjoyed helping people.

He is survived by his wife Doris Coleman of Marshall; children, Debbie Coleman Venden and husband Terry of Marshall, and Debbie Jean Coleman Green and husband Billy of Plano; sister-in-law, Patsy Bailey of Marshall; grandchildren, Tiffany Alford, Danny Fisher, Crystal Spence, Amanda Lamouroux, and Brandon Green; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Richard Bailey and Glen Coleman.
