James Robert "Jim" Griffin, 69, of Sheridan, AR passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Visitation for Mr. Griffin will be from 10-11 a.m., February 11, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, TX. Graveside services will be immediately following at Colonial Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Mike Baker officiating. Mr. Griffin was born in Houston, Texas to Travis and Ruby Elizabeth Allen Griffin. Prior to his employment with Baldwin & Shell Construction Company, he was a Master Plumber and owner of Griffin Plumbing Company in Marshall, TX. On November 25, 1964, he married Diane Cutaia. They were blessed with 4 children: Jami Richardson (Greg) of Sheridan, AR, Jim Griffin II of Little Rock, AR, Jena Baker (Mike) of Union City, TN, and Joel Griffin (Melanie) of Prairieville, LA; and 5 grandchildren, Noah, Grayson and Carrigan Baker and Brody and Bailey Richardson. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Ruby Griffin; brothers, Paul Griffin and Travis Griffin; and one infant sister. Pallbearers will be Greg Richardson, Joel R. Griffin, Jim Griffin II, Larry Pierce, Jr., Charles Cutaia and Jimmy Tubbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Brody Richardson, Noah Baker and Grayson Baker.
