A memorial service for James H. Grimmer, 79, of Marshall, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2015, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with D.W. McLendon officiating. Mr. Grimmer passed away Monday, May 11, 2015, at his residence. James Harlan Grimmer was born January 17, 1936, in Marshall, TX, to Travis Lane and Lenora Hickey Grimmer. He attended Marshall Public Schools, and later worked for Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, and served as a pipeliner. James was a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ. James was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Lenora Grimmer; sister, Lurline Watson; brother, Galen Grimmer; and nephews, Travis Davis and Jerry Davis. Surviving James are his sister, Nellrene Holt of Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
