James Larry Heaton left this earth on November 15, 2018 to go to his heavenly home. Funeral Services will be held November 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Down's Funeral Home in Marshall, TX. Pastor Shawn Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church will conduct the service.

Larry was 70 years old and was born on December 31, 1947 to James Lake Heaton and Frances Murphy Heaton. He passed away with his family by his side on November 15, 2018 at a Hospice facility in Tyler. He was born in Henderson TX and raised in Carthage Texas. He had been a Marshall resident for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church
Larry was a long term UAW member. He retired from General Motors in Shreveport where he was a quality inspector. He loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys and followed them faithfully through good and bad times. In healthier times he loved to fish and play golf. He also loved to play games and loved to win. His grandchildren accused him of cheating at times, which he probably was. He was also an avid collector of caps and had hundreds of them. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. Any day he got to spend with them was a special day.
Larry is survived by his wife, Reggie Beaty Heaton, his children Jason and wife Shayla, and Julie and her husband Cory. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Josie Brock, Trinity Heaton, Chloe' Burnett, Major Burnett and Sarah Collins. He is also survived by his brother in law, Russell Beaty and his wife Jolene Beaty and his sister in law Gayle Keller and her husband Auvil. In addition he had many cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved aunts and uncles.
Flowers are permitted or you can make a contribution in his name to the Friends of Marshall Animal Shelter or Immanuel Baptist Church Youth Fund.Sunday
